Terms and Conditions
The Rayovac, Audio Infos EHIMA and the EFHOH Audiologist of the Year competition is open to all hearing care professionals (hearing aid audiologists, audiologists and dispensers) in the UK, France, Sweden, Spain, Germany, Austria, Ireland, Switzerland, Denmark and The Netherlands. This competition is organisedby Spectrum Brands (UK) Limited, Washington, Tyne and Wear, England, NE37 3HW (“Organiser”).
Nomination is only possible until 30th June 2018. The winners will be informed by September 2018.
In case of a dispute, Organiser’s decision shall be final.
Audiologists or dispensers must be nominated by a patient or their close family relative on their behalf (“nominator”) who have had – or are having – a hearing aid device fitted between August 2013 and June 2018.
The nominator must be at least 18 years and legal resident of UK, France, Sweden, Spain, Germany, Austria, Ireland, Switzerland, Denmark and The Netherlands.
Employees and their immediate families of the Organiser and its affiliated companies are not eligible to enter. In order to participate the nominator needs to register online at www.audiologistoftheyear.ie, or send to the organiser a filled out official entry form or leaflet.
Forms can be downloaded from the website, or are available through some Rayovac distributors. Postal costs must be borne by the nominator.
Nominators need to state their full name, e-mail address, home address and age and state how their hearing care professional has helped them and why they believe he/she should win the competition.
The Organiser is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, or misdirected registrations, which will be disqualified. Any false information or misrepresentation or violation of these terms and conditions will result in the relevant entries being disqualified.
An external panel of judges will score the entries based on the nominators’ stories. There will be one winner of each country – each winner will receive €250 gross amount, an award, framed certificate, plus PR support pack for help in publicising their award locally. There will also be framed “Commendation” certificates for all hearing care professionals shortlisted.
From these 10 country winners, again based on the submitted story, a European hearing care professional winner (“European Winner”) will be chosen by the external judging panel, who will receive a gross amount of €2,500 or an equivalent prize depending on local statutory requirements, a trophy, a framed certificate and an invitation to collect the prize, presented during the 2018 EUHA congress in Germany – taking place 18-20 October 2018, Nuremberg, Germany.
The overall European Winner must be able to travel to the congress to collect their prize. The Organiser will pay for the return flights and one night accommodation for the overall winner.
The nominator who submitted the entry which was the basis for the European Winner will receive a gross amount of €250 cash plus a gift to the value of €200. All further nominators of the European Winner will receive a small gift between the value of €10 – €20, which they can pick up from their audiologist.
The winners will be notified by mail, email or phone. Each winner will be responsible for any prize tax as required by local law.
If the winner of a prize cannot be contacted or fails to accept or collect their prize within 4 weeks after the notification then the winner will forfeit their prize and it will be awarded to the second most voted for entrant.
Exchange or transfer of the prizes to third parties is not possible.
The Organiser guarantees the compliance with the valid statutory provisions with regard to data protection. All winners and their nominator declare their consent that the name and entry story can be used for online and offline publicity, e.g. press releases, websites, social media sites, in relation to the current and following competition. After one year, the Organiser can continue to use the entry details, but full names will not be used to protect anonymity.
The winner and nominator agrees that they will participate, where possible, in any additional photography, which will be able to be used in online and offline publicity as mentioned above.
The names of the country winners will be made available at www.audiologistoftheyear.ie from the end of September 2018.
In the case of dispute, the law of England and Wales shall apply exclusively.
